Merriam-Webster defines emotion as "a conscious mental reaction (as anger or fear) subjectively experienced as strong feeling usually directed toward a specific object and typically accompanied by physiological and behavioral changes in the body."
"All the knowledge I possess everyone else can acquire, but my heart is all my own." Goethe understood that we have say in our emotional makeup and that that makeup is uniquely ours.
Some of our emotions reflect an alignment with our positive intentions and some do not. When our emotions and our thoughts are not in alignment this impedes our ability to make manifest our dreams, goals and aspirations.
According to eminent Swiss Psychiatrist, Carl Jung, "There can be no transforming of darkness into light and of apathy into movement without emotion."
Thus emotions are necessary for any personal transformation and those with a negative context also act as blocking mechanisms for change.
According to the Dalai Lama, "...all our suffering comes about as a result of an undisciplined mind, and this untamed mind itself comes about because of ignorance and negative emotions."
To broaden this discussion, the video below explores emotions please take a few minutes to watch and attend to the message the video imparts.
One of the questions this video poses is, are you able to live in a world with drama and chaos? This question, answered with self-honesty, will help you to realize more of the totality of what is holding back your growth toward the personal transformation that would lead you to alignment with the emerging paradigm.
The second video in this series by Free Your Mind forever's channel at youtube.com opens to greater depth into emotions and how they may work for your benefit as you move along your spiritual growth path.
"In the last decade or so, science has discovered a tremendous amount about the role emotions play in our lives. Researchers have found that even more than IQ, your emotional awareness and abilities to handle feelings will determine your success and happiness in all walks of life, including family relationships." - John Gottman, Ph.D.
Personal transformation does begin within and when our thoughts and emotions are aligned what we seek is seeking us. When they are on conflict they push against one another like two north poles of a magnet would.
Success in goal and dream attainment is boosted when we are able to substitute misaligned thoughts and emotions with those that that harmonize.
So what insights have you experienced as a result of this post and the two videos you viewed, if any?
In what ways have your emotions blocked your intentions, if any?
What negative emotions do you struggle with?
When you think about something you wish to manifest does the emotional linkage offer harmonious or painful emotions?
As you consider where you are in creating emotional and thought harmony know that wherever you are in that continuum you are able to move into a place of greater harmony.
I will open future discussions on this blog that will elaborate on just how to use the substitution process of creating emotional and thought harmony.
Until then, savor the insights you've gained through this post and seek opportunities to incite positive action in the direction off your dreams and goals.
